How a controlled burn is managed

  • 3
This set of photos is a sequence explaining how a controlled burn works. This particular burn is in a young forest that was planted after the Round fire in the 1960’s. The objective is to make the stand less vulnerable to summer wildfires, but the burn also benefits wildlife and reduces potential wildfire smoke.
